Pick a higher error correction level when you expect the code to be printed on something that may get scuffed, partial or overlaid with a logo — level H keeps scanning even if nearly a third of the modules are damaged. For plain links, level M gives the smallest code that still scans reliably. Larger sizes are better for posters; 200 px is enough for a business card or an email signature.
