About UUID Generator
A version 4 UUID is a 128-bit identifier of which 122 bits are random: the version and variant bits are fixed so that tools can recognise the format, and the rest comes from your browser's cryptographic random source. The chance of generating the same value twice is vanishingly small, which is what makes UUIDs safe to generate on many machines without coordinating — ideal as primary keys, idempotency tokens, file names or test fixtures.
Formatting options cover the variants you meet in practice: uppercase for some legacy systems, hyphens removed for storage in columns that dislike punctuation, and braces for the Microsoft GUID form. Note that a UUID is an identifier, not a secret — never use one as a password, an API key or anything that must remain unguessable in a public URL. Generated values are not recorded anywhere, so copy or download them before generating again.
