About Color Picker

Choose a colour with the native picker or type a hex value directly, and this tool resolves it to RGB and HSL, shows its contrast ratio against white and black, and builds three harmony sets from it. Every swatch is clickable — clicking copies that exact hex value to your clipboard, so building a five-colour palette takes four clicks.

The contrast ratios follow the WCAG formula. A value of 4.5 or higher passes AA for normal body text, and 7 or higher passes AAA; anything below 3 fails even large text. Use that number to decide whether your accent colour can carry a label or should stay a background. Complementary sits 180 degrees opposite on the wheel, triadic splits the wheel into three at 120 degrees, and analogous neighbours sit 30 degrees apart for a low-contrast, calm palette.
